Joia Méridia : Studies of lot M7.2

by Faragou

The large-scale Joia Méridia project contributes to the major Eco-Vallée program, a development and town planning project that is helping to transform the Lower Var Valley.

Agence Faragou begins studies for lot M7.2, with the architecture firm Carta Associés, by modifying the initial project intentions to adapt to a new program defined by new parking companies designed on a single floor , as well as a space open to the ground, the percentage of which must respect the requests for surfaces of private blocks. Thus, the idea of the competition which proposed the reconstruction of a dark valley was abandoned to enforce this program.

A sketch makes it possible to visualize the new landscape intentions of the heart of the block. The dark valley is redesigned as a rocky fault that creates a confidential walking path between the landscaped islets and the open space represented by a canopy of pines and holm oaks that frame the outdoor spaces. This vegetation is reduced and dispersed, approaching the facades of the buildings, on the landscaped islands alternating large areas of lawns and a few leafy plants which stand out from the ground and let more light pass. The project is created to facilitate functional paths along the facades due to the large number of accesses.
